F1 visa interview questions - Real Experience


Guy: Good evening sir and gave folder
Visa Officer: Whats your specialization
Guy: Embedded systems

Visa Officer: What is it?
Guy: 'explained about it'

Visa Officer: Why are you interested in it..you are from instrumentation background
Guy: I have relevant course work in my 5th n 6th semester sir..even my final year project is in that platform.

Visa Officer: Tell me about your project
Guy: I explained him the project while...he was typing on computer

Visa Officer: asked a technical question ( he knew embedded systems)
I answered saying the system v designed using a PC will optimize the working of the particular equipment in the paper industry...he seemed satisfied..

Visa Officer: UG marksheets
Guy: sir do u want 2 have a look @ my aid letter/ it s not there in I20

Visa Officer: UG marksheets ( i thought i am gone)

I had 13 backlogs..so gave 10th n 12th 1st ..then gre n toefl n finally UG sheets...
Visa Officer: u got good marks in GRE
Guy: yes sir

Visa Officer: u have a lot of backlogs...y?
Guy: Sir i suffered an accident in my 2nd semester that hampered my prep..but i cleared all progressively

Visa Officer: what is your %
Guy: 68.08 sir

Visa Officer: Sure ?
Guy: U can check wit a calculator sir..

he seemed impressed
Visa Officer: whats your dad's income show ur CA
Guy: atleast would u like 2 see the aid offer letter sir?

Visa Officer: why it not shown in I20
Guy: sir admit was given in may 1st week..aid was given in 3rd week only..new i20 s on its way..here s a scanned copy 4 your reference...

Visa Officer: what after MS
Guy: there are leading firms in embedded systems like Wipro HCl n Satyam sir i would join them...

golden words..UR VISA IS APPROVED.


This was really breathtaking interview. There were lots of negative points with the student's application but his luck was with him that day. 


Confidence is the key to success.
