GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test

Time: 3.5-4 hours
Format: GMAT is divided into 3 sections

1) Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA): The AWA consists of two separate writing tasks of 30 minutes each—Analysis of an Issue and Analysis of an Argument.

2) Quantitative Section: This section contains 37 multiple-choice questions of two question types to be copmleted in total 75 minutes—Data Sufficiency and Problem Solving.

3) Verbal Section: This section contains 41 multiple choice questions of three question types to be completed in 75 minutes—Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, and Sentence Correction.

GMAT is a CAT (Computer Adaptive Test), it adapts to test taker's ability.

Scoring: The score is determined by,

  • The number of questions answered
  • Whether the questions answered correctly or incorrectly
  • The level of difficulty and other statistical characteristics of each question.
